Traffic is a significant concern when it comes to travelling, especially in Bangkok. The unpredictability of travel times can greatly impact daily life, causing travellers such delays sometimes more than necessary.

I focused on solving travel time planning issues in daily life by using the application to plan travel time in advance. The application displayed total travel time estimation data and the reliability of travel time in graphs to help users make informed decision.

I used travel time reliability to visualize the uncertainty of travel time and designed an application prototype. 

To visualize traffic congestion, I created a bar chart using of travel time index using PowerBI.

After completing the user flow design, I proceeded to design 2 prototypes and conducted an A/B testing. I divided the users, aged between 20-22 years, into two groups of 6 people.

  • After testing both prototypes A and B, I found that prototype B had an average score of 84.13%, which was higher than prototype A with 11.45%. It showed that format B was a better and more understandable format. As format B was chosen, it was further analyzed during a web prototype user test with Google Analytics as the next step.

  • After using Google Analytics, I found that users spent 1 minute and 17 seconds using the application on average. It implied that users have relatively low engagement with the app.

  • To enhance the application, a few features could be added to the application. This includes real-time navigation and the ability to set departure times. Additionally, users can add multiple destinations.

  • After finishing this project, I have learned more about user experience, which includes user flow design and A/B testing. However, my favourite part has always been designing the user interface.
